17th PSYOPS Planners Course

The Portuguese Military University Institute conducted between 21st January and 1st February, the 17th edition of the PSYOPS Planners Course. The course aim is to provide basic knowledge to allow students to perform staff duties at Operational level as PSYOPS planners.

This edition was attended by 24 students: 21 Portuguese officers, 1 officer from the Italian Navy and 2 civilians, one of them from Italy.

The course consisted in a theoretical part and a planning exercise. Beside the doctrinal lectures, this year edition was composed by a visit to a media center and several lectures delivered by experts on psychology, sociology, branding, social media and marketing. This edition, the course had the participation of the commander of Grupo de Operaciones de Información II from the Spanish Army and Col (R) Jack Guy a distinguish Regiment PSYOPS from the USA who highlighted the relevance of this type of operations nowadays.

Já se encontra disponível para consulta a versão digital do Volume VI - número 2, de novembro de 2018, da Revista de Ciências Militares (RCM).

A RCM é uma publicação científica, editada em duplo formato - digital (bilingue português-inglês) no sitio do IUM, e impressa - e tem uma periodicidade definida de dois número por ano (maio e novembro).

Na presente edição, a opção editorial foi a de apresentar aos leitores da RCM um conjunto de oito artigos científicos elaborados por vários autores militares e civis, portugueses e brasileiros, referentes a diversas matérias, todas elas caracterizadas pelo facto de se enquadrarem no âmbito das Ciências Militares. A este conjunto, acrescem duas recensões sobre duas obras internacionais.

Journal of Military Science, Vol. VI, No. 1

The digital version of the Journal of Military ScienceVol. VI, No 1 (May 2018) is now available for consultation.

The Journal of Military Science (JMS) is a semi-annual digital publication with a limited print edition issued by the Military University Institute (IUM).

With this issue of the JMS, the editorial board has decided to provide our readers with eight scientific research papers elaborated by several military and civilian authors from Portugal and Brazil, focusing on different topics that fall within the scope of Military Science. The journal also features two critical reviews of two international works.
